le marché st george photographed by gilian stevens

i want to plan a whole trip to vancouver around a visit to le marché st george; a all too quaint market/restaurant on a idealic corner.

gilian stevens and her camera capture le marché st george in just the right way...oh how i wish this magical store was right around the corner.

todd hido's landscapes

the work of photographer todd hido stirs up something in me so strong.  the funny thing is that i can't put my finger on exactly that is...maybe serenity, maybe loneliness, maybe a little bit of fear?  the beauty of magnificent art is that you really don't have to explain it...it's the can't-take-my-eyes-off-of-it part that is truly important...

that can't camera of mine has been inactive for entirely too long...i can't decide if these landscapes make we want to grab it right this very second or never touch it again (no point considering it's all right here).

wee wednesday with lindsay of darling clementine: A Childhood in The City

Every so often I come across an image that has me frantically Googling the image or photographer to find out if they have more images, usually my searches go nowhere as people often disregard proper captioning and linking. This time I got lucky and discovered Helen Levitt. Her photography is such a beautiful vision of childhood in New York City during the 40's.

"Levitt's pictures report no unusual happenings; most of them show the games of children, the errands and conversations of the middle-aged, and the observant waiting of the old. What is remarkable about the photographs is that these immemorially routine acts of life, practiced everywhere and always, are revealed as being full of grace, drama, humor, pathos, and surprise, and also that they are filled with the qualities of art, as though the street were a stage, and its people were all actors and actresses, mimes, orators, and dancers." - via Atget Photography

Here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!

my happy place...

i want to combine all of matthew williams's interior photographs and create one, big, beautiful space...

where beds are beautiful, even when messy, the lighting is always perfect and the stacks of books look like works of art.  so pretty.

Guest post from Frolic!: Photographer, Roland Persson

Hello! This is Chelsea from Frolic! happy to be here while Traci is off on an adventure!! I've been spending a few weeks in Sweden this summer and have spent a little time at the bookstore looking at all the amazing cookbooks and gardening books. All of them are so beautiful! I can't decide which to buy. I noticed a lot of them were photographed by Roland Persson and I have now became a big fan of his work.

Check out more of his work right here.
