another cabin of all cabins...

those of you who happen to follow me on pinterest are very aware of the fact that i have a thing for cabin living.  i often times place myself smack in the middle of my "if i had a cabin" board, daydreaming like crazy!

you can imagine the reaction i had to this cabin of cabins!  oscar winning documentary filmmaker, bobby houston and his partner, eric shamie outdid themselves with this southern california masterpiece...

this is a cabin i could call my one and only forever and ever.

corbin bernsen's california home

oh my, i need to hurry..."hurry" because i feel as if i may need to share beautiful spaces today.

the first is corbin bernsen's 1940's california home...

the doors and windows in the kitchen/dining area, along with the industrial fixtures are enought to put me over the edge...

the vintage finds, combined with new pieces and gorgeous restoration are simply stunning.

just right

i used to revel in stuff...more and more stuff.  i used to live by "if i could just have this..." or "if I could just have that..."  then in my late 30's something changed...now i am constantly trying to get rid of things and dream of a small, simple house; with just enough room for my wee fam, our most prized possessions and a few pets too...

which is why this home in the forest fits into my plan perfectly...obviously void of "stuff"...

a few bits and baubles here and there, but overall so uncluttered...i am pretty sure it has to smell like rain, sunshine and pine trees...

grown-up and perfect

this afternoon i thought i would share a beautiful, completely grown-up space...

designer kathleen clements designed this hollywood hills residence and i am not sure it could be more perfect or pristine...

a green home

bliss has been around for a long time.  i have covered a large amount of topics and shortcomings...however, i am not sure i have ever properly explained the coal black thumb i possess when it comes to plants of all types.  which is why i am always so, so in awe of homes with green and leafy (or in the case of cacti, poky) goodness scattered throughout.

so you can imagine how awestruck i was when i stumbled into landscape designer, giuseppe baldi's beautiful country home in Elle Decoration UK...

the best part is in the written description: "from my windowi look out onto an ancient garden and the rolling fields and vineyards beyond."

so, so dreamy...
