blissful guest: jan from poppytalk presenting black, white + brown

hello dear blissful readers. . . it's jan from poppytalk and i'm thrilled to be guest blogging today while traci is off on her (what sounds like amazing) summer vacation!  today i thought it would be fun to bring a little black and white (with a bit of brown) here just because to me it's an amazing color combination and such a classic.  i'm really drawn to these three this year – from the browns of wooden floors and furniture to black  and white accents like rugs or picture frames and in most cases white walls to brighten it all up.  there's just something about them that sets the mood instantly and it's super-easy to pull together.

I have always been a bright color person - in clothes and home. but this year i have been totally drawn to white - neutrals. i don't know why - maybe it's because it seems so simple and calming and i must need that these days with two young kids :)

I love black and white! Pretty much everything I own is black and white. The decorations are great. I just bought a house and I don't have any decorations up yet, it looks so plain and boring. My friends and I were thinking about trying to make leather picture frames and put pictures of my boyfriend's band in them. We are not very crafty so wish us luck. Thanks so much for sharing.
