my happy place...

if you missed my previous post today, and happen to think you would love a sponsorship spot on my bliss, please contact me...

anyway...

it's tuesday...and it's chaotic around here.  miss lu is teething something awful and gus the puppy is sweet, but sometimes i feel like the two of them are out to get me. :)  however, i must say i wouldn't have it any other way.

besides the delightful crazy that is my life, i am drowning in stuff...lu's stuff, b's stuff, my stuff, and mr. french's stuff.  it doesn't matter how many times i move it or reposition it, i am still surrounded!  since i haven't really figured out how to get rid of all of our worldly possessions i will turn to a home that seems perfectly void of clutter...

do you feel the cool breeze of clutter-free surroundings?  the only items on the floor are lovely baskets and the walls are perfectly void of too much of anything.  perhaps tomorrow i would find this home to be a bit too empty, but today i am going to pretend i live here for a few minutes...

xo mrs. french

I know the feeling. Not too long ago I got the "I am drowning in stuff" feeling. Then I discovered a great little e-book by an old colleague and friend called "Getting Rid of It" http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0068EMZ5K This started my journey of clearing out. Their personal journey started with clearing out the clutter and ended with getting rid of it all. While we may not all go that extreme I found it enlightening and helpful in starting my process. My favorite so far is the thought that by focusing on taking care of "stuff" you miss out on experiences and focusing on the important things in life. The stuff becomes a distraction. They really take a look at the emotional side of our connection to our stuff and have great ideas for taking it room by room (of which I am still working through). They have a great blog of their journey today of living without possessions. pretty inspiring and brave... http://www.marriedwithluggage.com/ and p.s. thanks for bringing a little sunshine to my day with your posts.

Oh no - death by puppy and small child!??! Mind you they're both so cute it would be a happy demise surely.
I like the clutter free pics - but I'm always suspicious when you see homes with no 'stuff'. Does that mean one opens the cupboards and everything falls out....
I hope things calm down soon - Happy Wednesday, Annie x

I love looking at this home. It has such a calming effect, with the minimalism and white everywhere. But I agree with Annie's comment above. I'm pretty sure they just threw everything in the garage for the photo shoot. Still, something to shoot for.
