my happy place...

hello, i feel the need to vent a bit...two nights ago ms. lu decided to gift us with a full night's sleep.  i was optimistic.  i thought we had crossed into the magical place, a place where we would no longer be getting up with a baby in the middle of the night.  ha!  was i ever wrong!  we paid for 2 nights ago with a night that made the early days with lu look like child's play...a wide awake interruption from 11:00-2:30ish!  i would gladly go back to one brief waking per night over a full nights sleep followed by a night of partying until 2:30.  just thought i would put it out there.

needless to say, a happy place is definitely in order today.  this norwegian apartment is so darn perfect.  in a world where we are always striving for a bigger space it is refreshing to find a home where smaller is the answer.  the owners of this flat chose to remove a bit of square feet in exchange for an open, airy space.  such a good decision...

besides being simply beautiful, i just know the babies sleep through the night here.  it's my happy place for the day, and i say it's so.  xo mrs. french

What a perfect space! I so feel your pain on the sleep thing. Neither of my two were good sleepers. My son who is now 5 didn't sleep through the night until he was 3 and still gets up and crawls into our bed occasionally. My daughter who is now 3 didn't sleep through until after she turned 2. Both are still super early risers :( I hope your little Lu figures it out sooner than that. With happy spaces like that to look at, I know she will! Hang in there. It really does get better and then somehow you forget about back when they didn't sleep...Best of luck!

Well, then I concur, it is definitely so! Gosh, I only wish my house was so clean and simple...a girl can dream, ya know?! I think when my house grows up, it inspires to be like this one...well, maybe instead of "I think" the correct wording should be "I hope..."

I totally feel your sleepless pain. My almost 3 yr old was up half the night and it's pretty normal for him. I keep telling myself "this too shall pass" but some days I wish it would hurry itself along. If that has really does make babies sleep then I am booking my family the next flight out! I'm sure the family wouldn't mind us crashing their pad, right? I absolutely love their Catherineholm collection in the kitchen!

This is such a whimsical and charming home! I love all the bright open space - I can see why it's your happy place!

Ahhhh... non sleeping babies! Ours is only 9 days today... so we're getting used to the whole no sleep... okay, not really. Last Thursday night I tried getting her down around 10 and she was not having any of it until 2:30 either... thankfully, she slept for a few hours after that... I've learned I'll take 3 hours straight to start my night off any day, since she's bound to wake up. Hope you're blessed with some more full night sleeps soon! :) (And this place does indeed look happy and like the babies sleep through the night... can I come too?)
